Everything you need to know to prepare your Literary Papers Article for submission.

  • Style Guide.

Please follow the guidelines in this document to format your paper before you submit. All publications in Literary Papers must follow these guidelines.

Citation style: Chicago Manual of Style 17th Edition (full note). Please include footnotes and a Works Cited page.

Font: Times New Roman, Size 12.

    Line Spacing: Double.

Length: If you are an undergraduate student, please submit a paper of between 6 and 8 pages in length. We also welcome thesis papers written for Junior tutorials by undergraduate students, which should be no longer than 25 pages. If you are a graduate student or undergraduate in a graduate-level course, you may submit papers of between 15 to 20 pages in length.

Authorial Identification: Please do not write your name anywhere in your Word Document submission or otherwise offer identifying information in your essay. Your Peer Reviewer will approach your paper blind, which means that they will not know who you are when they read your work. This is to your advantage, to help prevent personal bias from intervening in the reading process. After your paper has been reviewed, if it has been given an “accept” or “revise and resubmit” reply, you will have direct contact with an Editor, who will read your cover letter, your Peer Reviewers’ Reader Report, and your paper itself. The Editor will work with you to develop your manuscript.

If your paper is accepted for publication with us, please provide the following information along with your second draft. Please also adhere to the guidelines below when editing your paper.

Changes in the document: When you are making changes in your draft, please always use the “track changes” function in Word.

Replying to edits and comments in the document: If your Editor has added any comments or suggested any changes in your documents, please do not delete or accept them in your Word document. Simply leave an edit there if you agree with it. If you do not agree with an edit, feel free to edit it anew using track changes. If your Editor asks you questions in your comments, feel free to comment in reply in addition to editing your document.

Cover Letter 2.0: Please write a letter explaining the changes that you have made in your essay in reply to your Peer Reviewer’s and Editor’s feedback. This letter can be short.

Bio and Headshot: Please include a 100-word bio and a headshot with your second draft.
